When BW, a fit out and refurbishment expert, wanted to move from Southwark to new premises, KKS was involved in every stage of the project.

Firstly we undertook strategic reviews of the different locations BW had shortlised for their new HQ, producing a brief document analysing the information from key interviews held with BW, understanding their philosophy, culture and needs. We then carried out test-fits of the selected spaces. As the final selection was made, we moved forward to space planning and design of the 10,000 sqft floor space.

From the selected concept option, we moved to develop the idea of unifying the space by creating a new internal envelope with the reception bronze screens wrapping the internal façade and the lacquered panels completing the envelope, all creating a continuity of a very cohesive design as the new backdrop. Bringing the external natural light in through a filter creates an almost hotel-like ambience.

When employees and clients enter the reception there is an instant WOW factor, as the quality and attention to detail exudes from every corner of the design. Visitors approach the stunning bespoke Corian reception desk which gently slopes and curves to the right where, alongside loose iconic furniture pieces, forms the waiting area.

A sophisticated palette of neutral tones with warm highlights was used to maintain a classic environment to stand the test of time. The BW brand is always paramount, subtly reinforced with an elegant carved ceiling light sign manifestation that welcomes clients to the meeting room suite which consists of eight meeting rooms of different sizes all with state-of-the-art AV. To encourage and support the collaborative style of working favoured at BW, the main working areas comprise bench-style workspaces, supporting 130 employees across 86 desks with the capacity to increase headcount by 30%.
